Representing the whole range of Swiss interests in Swiss-Indian relations; Managing one of the largest Swiss embassies (New Delhi, Indien), with two Consulates General (Mumbai, Bangalore), one Business Hub (Mumbai), one swissnex representation (Science and technology; Bangalore) and two Honorary Consuls (Chennai, Kolkata) reporting to the Embassy. Main field of responsibility: Representing the interests of Swiss companies with Indian authorities and bureaucracies; high profile communication activities regarding Banking Secrecy and the „Black Money“ topic; assisting inter-government negotiations regarding the revision of the Indo-Swiss Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement; assisting the on-going Free Trade negotiations between the EFTA and India.
Special events: creation of the Swiss Ambassador’s Award bestowed on the industrial leader Ratan Tata in 2011 for exceptional leadership and on Bollywood director Yash Chopra in 2010 for his contribution to Indian tourists’ interest for Switzerland as a holiday destination.
